Comment: When trying to shop at the Madison Avenue Store in Manhattan I almost got shocked responses to my "Merry Christmas" as if the staff was now cought and did not know what to do. No mention of Christmas, so no shopping there from me or my family.

Comment: While I appreciate that C&B has a Christmas Ornament category on their website, I was disappointed by the clearly intentional omission of the word "Christmas" in an ornament description that said "... adds a wildlife touch to your holiday tree". I love this store, but will buy elsewhere. I chose "negligent" to reflect that they both use and omit "Christmas".

Comment: Just received the Gift Guide 2009 catalog in the mail and the only mention of Christmas is the 12 days of Christmas ornaments. Everything else is listed as "Holiday"....

Comment: I checked their main Holiday Catalogue thoroughly. The only use of the word Christmas was for a set of 12 Days of Christmas ornaments. They appeared to go out of their way not to use the word. I chose to toss the catalogue in the trash for that reason.

Comment: Last week, I read through a Crate and Barrel catalog to see what their stance was on Christmas. I was amazed that the catalog was chocked full of Christmas themed items with no mention of the word "Christmas". This was made more eery because they seemed to try not to use "Holiday" either. Very bizarre. Love the store! Won't be shopping here though!

Comment: Respectfully, for the person who said "why is it called Wynter Stocking?" Here is a link to that page on the Crate & Barrel website: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/christmas-decorating/holiday/1 There are a group of products under "Christmas Decorating" and many other categories referencing "Christmas Entertaining...Sweets...Ornaments." They offer many "Christmas" stockings so wouldn't it make sense that the products have unique names like "Reindeer Stocking" "Tidings Stocking" "Wynter Stocking" etc...?

Comment: I didn't see anything in their store that said Merry Christmas, thier ornaments are very generic, no angels, just a few silver plated trees. I love this store but I don't like to go in at Christmas time, it makes me feel sad that they don't use the word Christmas.

Comment: I was amused/disturbed that Crate & Barrel wants to solicit my business during this season, but can't even call a Christmas stocking a Christmas Stocking. It's called a "Wynter Stocking". In their favor: They do mention in the description that it has a Christmas ornament motif. But why "Wynter"?!

Comment: Crate and Barrel's web site's "holiday" schedule lists Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas. To me, Christmas-friendly is to include Christmas, not exclude other holidays. It's early in the season but hopefully Crate and Barrel will keep Christmas; so far, so good!
