Comment: I have to give kudos to Land's End. I sent my catalogue cover back with a note of thanks for celebrating Christmas. Yesterday, I got a personal letter of thanks for my correspondence and a wish for a Merry Christmas! It was great! Will definitely shop there again!

Comment: Just got off the phone with Land's End to return a pair of gloves I received as a gift in 2006!! They gave EXCELLENT service ...
The best part of today's phone call--the customer service rep wished me a MERRY CHRISTMAS first!!! I happily returned the greeting!
You are getting my usual business PLUS the business I would usually be giving other stores like Gap and Old Navy who are losing my business because of their lack of respect for Christmas!

Comment: [UPDATE re: WEB...from a Land's End shopper:] "I've seen several negative comments on Land's End, stating their website makes no mention of Christmas...so I went to check it out. There, on the front page of the site [today] is a huge banner advertising a sale on "everything you want for Christmas". They've never been a company to shy away from Christmas-oriented advertising, although it's always the Santa Claus variety.

Comment: Besides the excellent sales at their inlet store on the weekend after Thanksgiving, the sales people were efficient and friendly. Bonus--when I was leaving, the sales associate said "Merry Christmas" Also, on front of one of their catalogs is a list of Christmas words shaped like a Christmas tree. In bold golden letters are the words MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Comment: In a tree-shaped list of words associated with Christmas, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL stands out in bold, all-caps, yellow printing. All the other words are in white lower-case.

Comment: When you open up their home page the main large ad encourages your Christmas shopping. The only down side is that when you are navigating the site, everything then caters to your "Holiday" needs.

Comment: I just called the Land's End customer service to tell them how pleased I was that they are not forsaking CHRISTmas in their advertising. The number is 1-800-800-5800 - so YOU can call too!! :^)
The more feedback they get, the more likely they are to continue this trend! A Christmas friendly company in my Christmas friendly state of Wisconsin. HURRAH!!

Comment: I heard about this site today and I am glad I did. I, too, have patronized Lands End for years. Their affiliated sites are willing to stand for Christmas, even if it is not as loud and clear as I would have liked. LE has greatly disappointed.

Comment: Lands End's catalogs may reference Christmas but you will be hard pressed to find any reference to it on the website. You will find: Holiday Gifts, Holiday Traditions, Holiday Sale, Holiday Gift Shop, Holiday Home, Holiday Wreath, and a reference about Celebrating the Season. The only reference I found to Christmas was in some of the descriptions of the products themselves. But even some products have been scrubbed of the term Christmas. Good Bye Lands End from a previously loyal customer.

Comment: I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at Lands End over the years. Have I been blind to what is now staring me in the eye this year on their web-site with NO MENTION of Christmas? Or -have they changed? Either way - the spending stops until they recognize Christmas on their web-site in a loud and proud manner.

Comment: I just reviewed the ratings. Found it interesting that Sears and Lands End have the hightest rating of any of the retailers listed and Lands End is part of Sears. It's good to see that Sears is still the family friendly company that it has been for over 120 years.

Comment: The catologue that just arrived in the mail says MErry Christmas! How refreshing among all the Happy Holidays! Also, while looking online, their Christmas decorations (stockings, ornaments, etc) are labeled as such: Christmas Stocking, Christmas ornament, Christmas tree, etc. I e-mailed customer service and told them that I was glad they kept Chritmas in their product ads and received a friendly e-mail back within hours. Yay LandsEnd!

Comment: MERRY CHRISTMAS wasn't the biggest tag line on the cover of the PRINT (the e catalogs don't use the words Merry Christmas) Land's End catalog I got. If you read ALL the words that make up a Christmas Tree shape, the words "merry christmas" do appear toward the bottom of the tree, in a contrasting color to the other words. I did not find any mention of Christmas in my search of their online advertising. They don't appear antagonistic and I have sent their customer service a question asking if more Merry Christmas words were planned in advertising to folks who will be buying Christmas presents. I will rate it Christmas friendly for now and re-post depending on what I hear back.

Comment: Just received a catalog from Lands' End and it has "Merry Christmas to all" on the front cover as part of a Christmas tree of words. It also says on the cover the last day to order to ensure delivery "by Christmas." Good job, Lands' End!
