Best Buy is trying to be respectful of all the holiday's celebrated during this time of year by mentioning that holiday in their ads during the week they occurred. Unfortunately the Muslim holiday occurred during the week of Black Friday.

Comment: I picked up a flyer in Best Buy last week to look through the deals I noticed on the bottom left of the front page there was a message reading "Happy Eid al-Adha". So to recap: Best Buy, starting in 2006, decided not to say "Merry Christmas" anymore due to offending people, yet they feel inclined to wish Muslims a happy Eid al-Adha. A Christian holiday that's celebrated by the majority of Americans is apparently offensive to a few special interest groups so they can't recognize the holiday, yet this Muslim holiday of sacrifice can be recognized?

I understand that Eid al-Adha was the day after Thanksgiving, but I don't buy presents for that holiday any more than I would for Thanksgiving. Comment: Couldn't believe they had Happy Eid al-Adha on their front page. I will not step foot in their door. I'll take my money elsewhere even if I have to pay more.

Comment: I saw many displays that overtly showed Christmas in the advertising. I was very pleased when I visited a Best Buy while in Bastrop, TX

Comment: After observing the Best Buy ad, totally devoid of any mention of Christmas, I purchased a new TV at Sears which was exactly the same model that Best Buy carrys. I showed the clerk at Best Buy my Sears receipt and asked, "why do you think I purchased this TV at Sears when I could have purchased it here?" He replied, "I suppose it was cheaper???" No I replied, because of your failure to recognize the event that ultimately created your opportunity to sell 70% of you years total sales. He just shrugged his shoulders and stated, "radicals like you won't change our policy." Amazing!!!

Comment: This excerpt was taken from an email I recieved about Best Buy: A company spokeswoman - Dawn Bryant - announced [Best Buy] would not use the word "Christmas" in their advertising: "We are going to continue to use the term holiday because there are several holidays throughout that time period, and we certainly need to be respectful of all of them."

Comment: The Thanksgiving ad prominently displayed "Happy Eid al-Adha," an Islamic festival of sacrifice. What other Islamic activities do they support? I was going to go there for both cell phone and computer purchases, but now I will avoid it.

Comment: I just spent over $2000 at Best Buy. Had I known their Thanksgiving ad was going to have happy eid al-aha on it, I would have left and gone to a different store. Radical Islam is trying to push Sharia law on this country. Celebrating and encouraging Islamic traditions as if they are equal to our historic celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas is unnerviing. Best Buy is naive and insulting.

Comment: While checking out of the store this past week-end, the clerk said "Happy Holidays!" I noticed that she was wearing a cross, so I responded with Merry Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. She smiled and said thank you and then went on to say that they are not allowed to say Merry Christmas because it might offend someone. How very sad! :-(

Comment: In their Thanksgiving ad- Best Buy simply has "Thanksgiving" at the bottom, no "Happy", yet just above this a caption reads 'Happy Eid al-Adha' for the Muslim holiday. What will be next?
